Tony Mc Nerney  BA(Hons) MA CTA ACA QFA TEP

About

The firm is run by Tony Mc Nerney- an experienced and conscientious business professional who underwent a career change from Engineer to Accountant. 

Following a varied career in engineering and entrepreneurship, he returned to college during the economic downturn.  

In 2013 Tony graduated from the National College of Ireland with a first class BA (Hons) in Accounting, followed by an MA in Accounting from NUI Maynooth in 2014.
He then gained experience in corporate audit with Grant Thornton before broadening out into a more general accounting and taxation role in small practice and industry. 

Tony studied alongside a busy career and qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor with the Irish Tax Institute in 2017, having passed all of the final admitting Chartered Accountant exams the year before.

Tony completed the Professional Diploma in Financial Advice at UCD,  gaining the Qualified Financial Advisor designation in early 2018. As a practitioner member of The Institute of Banking, this enables him to offer value-added services to clients in the areas of residential mortgages, pensions, life assurance, investment advice and personal financial planning. 

More recently, Tony has completed the Diploma in Trust and Estate Planning run jointly by the Law Society of Ireland and STEP. 

Suhail Fakharudin  BA(Hons) MSc

Suhail Fakharudin joined Mc Nerney & Co. in May 2019 and is already making a valuable contribution to the ongoing operation and success of the firm.  

In 2016 Suhail graduated from the Mara University of Technology with a BA(Hons) in Accounting, having previously earned a Diploma in Accounting and gained experience as an Accounts Assistant in the Malaysian Building Society Group.

This was followed by one year's experience at Petronas Chemical Group in their landmark Kuala Lumpur headquarters.

Suhail then moved to Ireland to study for an MSc in International Accounting & Finance with the Dublin Business School, and graduated with high honours in 2018.

He is presently studying the remaining ACCA modules, and building upon his accounting experience toward achieving the ACCA qualification.

Married to Anis, in his free time, Suhail enjoys travel, sports and volunteering for good causes.

Krista Niedra

Krista joined Mc Nerney & Co. in September 2020 as part of her university's internship program.  She is currently in the third year of a BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance degree at Maynooth University, after achieving high results in the first two years.  

In 2017 Krista completed the FETAC Level 5 course in Manual & Computerised Payroll, with a Distinction grade.

She has prior accounting experience from working in the Student Union accounts department at the University of Latvia between 2012 and 2014, during her studies there for a professional degree in Computer Science.

Krista is now looking forward to finishing her studies at Maynooth University in 2022.  After graduation, she plans to continue her career development by undertaking the professional exams for the Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor qualifications.

Married with two young children, Krista enjoys looking after her family, reading and following current affairs.
